Templates

Templates let you save a set of UTM parameters (and optionally a short domain) so you can apply them to new links with one click. They’re great for recurring campaigns, team consistency, and reducing tagging errors. Honestly, once you start using them, you won’t go back to manual entry.

  1. Go to Templates in the sidebar (under Tracking > Config)
  2. Click Create template
  3. Enter a name for the template
  4. Fill in the parameter values you want saved
  5. Click Save

Templates support all workspace parameters, including UTM parameters and any custom parameters you’ve defined.

If you’ve got a naming convention configured for utm_campaign, you can build your campaign value using the convention segments instead of typing it manually. The convention selector appears automatically for managed parameters.

There are two ways to apply a template when creating a shortlink.

  1. Open the link builder (click Create shortlink)
  2. In the right sidebar, click Select template
  3. Choose from the list

The template’s parameters fill in automatically. Parameters set by the template appear as locked (read-only). If you edit a locked parameter, the template detaches and you’re back to manual entry. Simple as that.

  1. Click the star icon next to the Create shortlink button
  2. Browse or search your templates
  3. Click a template to open the link builder with it pre-applied

We’ve tested this flow extensively, and the picker ends up being the fastest path for teams that run the same campaign types week after week (which is most teams, in our experience).

Star templates you use often. Favorites appear at the top of the template picker for quick access.

The templates list supports two views:

  • Table view, compact rows with parameter columns, ideal for scanning
  • Card view, visual cards showing parameter key-value pairs

Toggle between views using the icons in the top-right corner. Your preference is saved locally.

Use the dropdown menu on any template row (or card) to edit or delete it. Deleting a template doesn’t affect links that were created using it.
