Creating Links
Shortlinks are the core of Attri. Every shortlink redirects visitors to your destination URL while capturing click data like referrer, location, device, and browser. We’ve found that most teams have their first link live in under a minute.
Creating a shortlink
Section titled “Creating a shortlink”- Go to Shortlinks in the sidebar
- Click Create shortlink
- Enter your Destination URL, the page visitors will land on
- (Optional) Customize the shortlink:
- Slug, a custom path (e.g.,
attri.link/spring-sale). Leave blank for an auto-generated slug. - Domain, choose from your connected domains
- Parameters, add UTM or custom tracking parameters
- Tags, organize links with color-coded tags
- Slug, a custom path (e.g.,
- Click Create
That’s it. Your link is live immediately.
Editing a shortlink
Section titled “Editing a shortlink”Click any link in the shortlinks table to open the editor. You can update the destination URL, slug, parameters, tags, and all other settings. The shortlink URL itself won’t change (which is the whole point of a redirect layer, if you think about it).
Link features
Section titled “Link features”Each shortlink supports several optional features, accessible through tabs in the link builder:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Parameters | UTM and custom tracking parameters appended to the destination URL |
| Geo-Targeting | Redirect visitors to different URLs based on their country |
| Password | Require a password before redirecting |
| Expiration | Automatically disable the link after a specific date |
We use password-protected links internally when sharing embargoed campaign URLs with partners. Works great for that.
The right sidebar
Section titled “The right sidebar”When you’re creating or editing a link, the right sidebar shows:
- Template, apply or remove a saved parameter template
- Full URL, preview of the destination URL with all parameters
- Shortlink, your short URL (click to copy)
- QR Code, toggle to create a QR code for the link
- Tags, add or remove tags
The full URL preview is genuinely useful. It catches mistakes before they go live.
Bulk operations
Section titled “Bulk operations”Select multiple links using the checkboxes in the table to:
- Export selected links as Excel (.xlsx) or CSV
- Delete selected links
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Templates, save parameter sets for reuse
- Geo-Targeting, route visitors by country
- QR Codes, generate scannable codes for your links
